Health Matters is a medical centre in the heart of Ballito with a multidisciplinary team of doctors and health care workers who work together to take care of the community.The practice is modern and completely paperless, with state of the art equipment and fresh, dynamic team members.
We submit to most medical aids too with a live feedback system on your claim.

The Team

Dr Melize De Villiers

General Practitioner

Health Matters is led by Dr Melize de Villiers, a passionate GP who has been treating the Ballito community for over a decade. She has a special interest in female health, child health and mental health. She also assists in surgeries and works abroad in Ireland in urgent care medicine.

Dr Angelique van Tonder

General Practitioner

Obtained her Bachelor of Medicine Cum Laude in 2017 at the University of Pretoria. She has spent a few years working in emergency medicine and completed her Diploma in Primary Emergency Care before settling down in GP practice. She is passionate about child health and womens health and all things related to emergency medicine.

Liesl Morris

Psychologist

Liesl is a Clinical Psychologist who offers individual therapy for teens and adults and play therapy for children. She has a particular interest in trauma and loss, mood and anxiety disorders and personality disorders.

Lisa Robarts

Occupational Therapist

Our Occupational Therapist With a special interest in hand therapy and neurological rehabilitation. She offers in-room therapy or home visits in the North Coast area.

Lisa Grant-Stuart

Psychologist

Lisa Grant- Stuart is a Counselling Psychologist with a special interest in trauma and neurotherapies and a growing interest in sexual health. She is an EMI and BWRT supervisor and a member of the My Sexual Health team.

Mateenah Dewangree

Physiotherapist

Mateenah obtained her BSC Physiotherapy at Stellenbosch University. She is our dynamic physiotherapist with a special interest in chronic pain, sports injuries and woman’s health. She also provides home visits and in-hospital visits.

Chloe Dyer

Dietician

Chloe is A dietician in Ballito for over 5 years, with a special interest in lifestyle diseases, gut health and clinical nutrition.

Beverley Dalhuijsen

Educational psychologist

Bev does educational assessments and has many years of experience in learning difficulties. She has a special interest in dyslexia and is passionate about advocating for the needs of children who struggle with any learning difficulties.

Please note that we do claim from most medical aids, should there be a short fall it will be payable after the consultation. Please check with reception if there is any outstanding amount that needs to be settled.
